Why CSI?
At the heart of the Foschini Group’s CSI commitment is the recognition of our responsibility to contribute to South Africa’s economy in a sustainable manner, thereby enriching the lives of our employees, customers and surrounding communities.
But there’s more to CSI at the Foschini Group than meets the eye. The good work we’ve been doing over the years has raised the profile of our Group and continues to enhance our reputation as a caring, committed organisation - one that is worth investing in, not only for the returns such an investment can deliver, but because an investment in the Foschini Group is an investment in South Africa.
Through our focused Corporate Social Investment initiatives, the Foschini Group also continues to grow in stature as a South African employer of choice. By helping others, we’re attracting the best, most talented people to come and work for us, and ensuring that all our employees are proud of being part of the Foschini Group family. So our focus on social investment really does mean that, with Foschini Group, everybody wins.
Working together
At the Foschini Group, Corporate Social Investment truly is a team effort. The Group’s CSI Department, which is the main point of contact for funding for and on behalf of the Group, also works with the various group Trading Companies and Service Divisions and their respective employees on their individual projects to maximise effectiveness.
These projects are incentivised. To recognise employees who volunteer for community work in their spare time, the Foschini Group provides for grants up to R5000 per individual through their “Staff Community Builder” Programme.
